WW1 Bomb Found In One Of Our Skips

It’s certainly true that at James Waste Management we like to recycle as much as we possibly can. However, with some things that are brought through our gates, that’s just not possible.

While this may look like just some old, innocent container, it’s actually a World War One bomb!

Although the metal on the outside is recyclable, the contents certainly aren’t. I’m not entirely sure what type of bomb it is but would love to find out. So, if anyone has any more information about it, please let us know.

All we know about it so far is that it’s a 15lb explosive.

WHAT HAPPENED TO IT?

Well, we called the bomb squad who then came to collect it. They said it was still highly explosive and as far as we know, it was set off by controlled explosion. I guess it’s pretty fortunate that it was spotted by our team in time.

The second picture here shows the markings on the side, which should give a good indication about what type of bomb it is. If anyone has any more information about it, please let us know and we’ll post the findings here.
